Baker's Basket was established back in 1985 as a rustic corner store bakery selling pastries, cakes and fresh oven baked goods. Our owners & culinary experts, Ravish Arora & Rajendra Kelshikar, with a support staff of just 10 individuals, started baking out of a small yet humble kitchen located behind the Blind School in Pune. In no time, our classic Black Forest cake had become synonymous with any celebration in the city.
Over the years, with unapologetic insistence on the highest quality ingredients, artisanal craftsmanship and hard work, we have shifted to a larger factory space with 16 stores spread across Pune city and an amazing dedicated team of over 50.
Our founders strongly BELIEVE that Baker's Basket has survived and prospered for almost four decades because the team is relentless in creating only the very best. Whether a baker who works through the night, a delivery driver who makes sure the store racks are full everyday or a friendly face at the store counter, we are passionate about what we do and it shows!
While our cakes have become a much loved staple in Pune, our portfolio has grown to include fresh artisan breads, handcrafted cookies, bespoke cakes, gourmet sandwiches, savouries and a wide range of retail products.
With an obsessive commitment to experimentation and innovation, Ravish Arora has been in the hospitality industry for almost 30 years now. He is an alumnus of the Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai.
His professional training includes a culinary program from the Oberoi School, Thai cooking at Oriental Hotel Bangkok, Thailand, French cooking at Ecole Des Arts Culinaries et de Hotellerie, Lyon, France with the world famous chef, Paul Bocuse. Before establishing their company, Innvenue Hospitality Management Pvt. Ltd. in 2000, Ravish worked at the Oberoi Hotel, Mumbai, for a couple of years and eventually at the Blue Diamond Hotel, Pune as the Executive Chef and F&B Manager.
Having a tremendous passion for food, has over 35 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including over a decade of experience as Chief Executive of Blue Diamond Hotel, Pune.
He was nominated as the General Manager of the Year at Blue Diamond. He is a graduate of the Bombay Catering College. His professional training includes French cooking at Ecole Des Arts Culinaries et de Hotellerie, Lyon, France, a chef's course from HCIMA, Britain and Strategic Planning in Hotel and Catering Industry from Cornell University, USA. In 2000, he collaborated with Ravish Arora to form their first company.
